The FBI kept taking saucer reports

This is Section 3 of FBI headquarters file 62-HQ-83894, gathering 1947 'flying disc' reports and inter-agency letters, including the Maury Island incident near Tacoma, the Muroc Army airfield sightings, Kenneth Arnold's Mount Rainier account, and Hoover's decision to stop FBI disc investigations. The Muroc reports are the serious core, while Maury Island keeps showing how fast a story could get tangled. Hoover's pullback matters too: by late 1947 the FBI was already trying not to become the country's UFO office.
