U. S. TREASURY DEPARTMENT OFFICE OF DISTRICT SUPERVISOR DISTRICT NO. 9, ALCOHOL TAX UNIT 734 NEW POST OFFICE BUILDING CHICAGO 7, ILL. INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE April 4, 1950 Alcohol Tax Unit. IN REPLYING REFER TO: Federal Bureau of Investigation Washington, D.C. This is not an April Fool job. Saturday, April 1, 1950 at about 6 P.M. I was driving north on Route 47 - West of Geneva, Illinois and a little north of St. Charles, Illinois. Just ahead, through the windshield I saw a silver white object in the sky. It was traveling west at about the speed of an air plane. It was shaped like this. I was driving at 35 M.P.H. and slowed down to 20 M.P.H. to watch this object. It went behind a white cloud and I continued to watch but the object did not come out from behind the cloud as far as I could see. Geneva is 35 miles west of Chicago, and just north of Chicago is the Glenview Airport, operated by I believe by the Navy. The Saturday Evening Post carried an article somewhere ago about flying saucers and it said to report anything like the above to the F.B.I. 62-83894-221 RECORDED - 56 APR 14 1950 NJC ack 4/11/50 4-11-50 211 1st St. Geneva, Ill. or Km 734 New Post Office Bldg Chicago
