Soviet scientists sounded skeptical

This is a 1967 CIA information report relaying a U.S. astrophysicist's account of talks with Soviet scientists, who generally showed little scientific interest in UFO sightings and tended to explain them away. It shows the CIA collecting what rival scientists were saying, not proof that those scientists had answers. The point is that the intelligence record tracked not just sightings but how other countries' experts reacted to them.
