TO: CSQD
FROM: CSQD
DATE: 1.9 APR 1949
COMMIT NO. 2
Lt Col Ligpa/CSQD/2m

1. The "Evaluation Study of Phenonnon" at Inclosure 1 heres represents the current Intelligence Division, first, evaluation of the "flying savers."

2. With reference to paragraph 2 of Comment No. 1, CSQD recognizes the interest of defense planners in any object capable of being "shot all the way from Russia," and will continue to keep the matter under scrutiny. Any change in the evaluation contained at Inclosure No. 1 will be properly transmitted to CSQD.

3. CSQD is unable to verify Mr. Tinohell's statement that "flying savers are now definitely known to have been guided missiles shot all the way from Russia" and has no information as to the basis for the statement or "informatio" on which it may have been based. It is, however, possible that Mr. Tinohell published this item in an attempt to obtain some official statement from the MIO on the subject.
