Dear Sir:-

Regarding the recent reports of the so called flying saucers, I am quite sure that the hoax will be exposed by telling you that this is nothing more than the silver iodide used in artificial rainmaking. This is especially true if the silver iodide came in contact with radioactive clouds or so called thunderclouds.

The solution of this hoax is quite simple, if you will check your records you will find that flying saucers were first seen about the time when silver iodide came into usage for artificial rainmaking. Again, silver is a reflective agency and will reflect all types of light, which accounts for the various hues reported by sky gazers. Again, silver iodide, if radioactive or ionized by an electrical cloud will be come fluorescent, which accounts for flyers being unable to overtake the so called flying saucers, and their habit of disappearing.

Of course, we must eliminate such reports of flying saucers as were accountable by balloons, foo-fighters, meteorites, and the person who just calls up a newspaper with the hope of getting his name in the papers. Also to be disqualified are such reports as to ascertain that they are interplanetary space ships. If it were at all possible for another planet to send aircraft of any type to our atmosphere, it would simply burn up the same as a meteorite and such space ship remains would be found the same as meteorites. As far as I know, no such wreckage has ever been found.

Respectfully yours,

s/
G. Francis Nauheimer,
Director.
