A pastor wrote Hoover about beams

This is a 1949 letter from a pastor to FBI director J. Edgar Hoover reporting four converging beams of light and an explosion-like effect seen over the Cascade mountains the previous May, with a short FBI acknowledgment reply. There was no real investigation here, just letters back and forth. What it shows is the public instinct that the FBI was the place to send something they could not explain.
