At approximately 5:50 PM this date, STEPHEN KLYCE, 541 W 113 St, N.Y.C., telephonically advised that he is the organist at the First Presbyterian Church, Broad St., Bloomfield, N.J. PI 3-1796. While at the church at about 5:45 PM this date, he and others heard what sounded like a roar of a jet. On going out and looking at the sky they saw a bright object in the sky with a hazy outline around it. It appeared to be stationary and was east in the direction of N.Y.C. A plane was passing overhead at the same time and the UFO was about 5,000 feet up in the sky. The UFO disappeared after about 5 minutes.

At 6:00 PM, RALPH LAVELLA, 10 Hillcrest Avenue, West Paterson, N.J., telephonically advised that at about 5:45 PM he had seen a jet plane flying SE, heard an explosion, saw an object leave the plane and move in an easterly direction. A bright light emanated from the object and after several minutes it appeared to drop from the sky in the vicinity of N.Y.C.

At 6:03 PM, Agent M.A. SRODA, OSI, Camp Kilmer, N.J., KI 5-8286 was telephonically advised of the above information.

An anonymous caller furnished similar information at 5:47 PM and at 6:27 PM ALBERT DOUGLAS, 202 Morris Avenue, Springfield, N.J., DR 6-3997, advised that at 5:45 PM, while sitting in his car in a supermarket at Springfield, N.J., he had observed a vapor trail which extended in the Southern sky. At the end of it there was a bright object travelling at jet speed, then it seemed to stop, and remained stationary for 5 minutes and disappeared, then disappeared.
