Post Office Box #1158 Newark, New Jersey 07101 June 8, 1964 Lt. Col. Robert S. Hermann District Commander Headquarters 2nd OSI District (I.G.) U. S. Air Force 111 East 16th Street New York 3, New York ALL INFORMATION CONTAINED Dear Lt. Col. Hermann: HEREIN DATE 5/15/85 IS UNC. ASSIFIED BY On the evening of May 30, 1964, Theodore John Rubitz, age 13, of 167 West 19th Street, Bayonne, New Jersey, telephone Federal 9-8738, telephonically advised this office that at about 9:50 PM on May 30, 1964, he was walking along 22nd Street in Bayonne between Avenue A and Newark Bay when he observed five unidentified flying objects. He described these objects as being round and gray in color, flying north to south in a diamond-shaped formation, with the fifth object just in back and to the right of the last object in the diamond. He stated that they were very high up, looking like they might be lights but traveled across the sky faster than the speed of a plane and he was certain that these were not just planes or search lights. Rubitz was unable to further identify these objects. Mrs. Theodore Rubitz, mother of Theodore, advised that her son was not given to fanciful stories and that from what he had told her, she was sure that he had seen the objects described by him.
