As for your interest in the recent photos ofMars taken from our Mars Global Surveyor (MOS),
not the Mariner, these images are received on Earth in digital format, meaning "0 and I". NASA does
not tamper with these images. However, the images do require computer processing before they are
suitable for public viewing. All images and other instrument data obtained from the MGS will be deposited
in a publicly accessible archive, and they will then be available to everyone, scientists and citizens alike,
who wants to examine them and draw their own individual conclusions. You can access all the images
