l ha.ve been on duty outside the United States since Roy-
ember 16; i94o and have.had no leave since March, 1940.

On Octaber 25, 1939 I was transferred .from the Baval Air
Station, Sitka, Alaska to Patrol Squadron Jorty-fiTe at the Baval Air
Station, San Diego, California. Thia aquadron was redeaigna.ted VP Squad­
ron Fourteen and l vas transferred. from there on Hovember 16, 1940 to
the Naval Air Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where, on .l.lJ8Ust 10, 1942,
I received orders to report ·to the CollUJalldant 7ifteenth Baval District
for assignment to duty.
